Trident owns a 0.25% FOB royalty over Base Resources Ltd.’s Kwale Mineral Sands Project mine in Kenya.
The Kwale mine began operations in 2013, mining minerals sands rich in rutile, ilmenite, and zircon. The operations use hydraulic mining where the ore is concentrated through gravity separation. The heavy mineral concentrate is then processed in the mineral separation plant. The mineral separation plant cleans and separates the rutile, ilmenite, and zircon minerals into finished products for sale. The products are then transported to the Company’s own Likoni Port facility, located inside Mombasa Port, for export to customers.
April 2024
Base Resources entered into an agreement with Energy Fuels, a US-based uranium and critical minerals producer to acquire 100% of Base Resources. The transaction will establish a global leader in the critical minerals sector with a focus on rare earth elements, uranium, and heavy mineral sands production and a clear strategic development pathway.
